As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

Prompt response:  I enjoyed learning new stories in American Literature. The final project was the most engaging, and I connected a lot with arguments. I don't know where I would need additional support, however. Summary:  Today, we continued on our posters. Reflection:  I learned that it's easy to recite a poem, and also fun. It allows me to show the meaning of the poem.

Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does).

Prompt response:  One tradition we still do is Christmas. It still matters because we love opening presents and having a festive time. Summary:  Today, we worked on missing assignments. Reflection:  We worked on missing assignments.

12/15: How have the holidays changed as you have grown older? Compare your experiences of the holidays during childhood with how you experience them now, focusing on shifts in perspective, responsibilities, or emotional meaning.

Prompt response:  I loved enjoying Christmas since I was a little kid. It really hasn't changed a lot, though. I still love opening gifts for Christmas. Summary:  Today, we continued on our posters. Reflection:  I learned that it's easy to recite a poem, and also fun. It allows me to show the meaning of the poem.

Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss.

Prompt response:  I've outgrown my orange sweater I got in 2022. I enjoyed it because I was very comfortable in the sweater. Even though I've outgrown it, I still miss wearing it to this very day. Summary:  Today, we continued work on the final. Reflection:  I learned that it's easy to recite a poem, and also fun. It allows me to show the meaning of the poem.

Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.

Prompt response:  There is definitely one thing I can't stop thinking about: my friendships . Oftentimes, I get infatuations about my interactions with friends. This often happens when something happens, for example, when a girl teases me. If I get infatuations, then I often can get bored from them. So, I need to stop having too much infatuations. Summary:  Today, we chose our classes for next year, and we also learned about the final project. Reflection:  I learned that it's easy to recite a poem, and also fun. It allows me to show the meaning of the poem.

Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt response:  The best gift I have ever received was a Nintendo Switch for my birthday in 2018. It was so fun playing on it back then. It kept me entertained for many years. Summary:  Today, we worked on our cultural identity masks. Reflection:  I learned that presenting our cultural identity masks can help us learn one another. Knowing more about each other can help us talk about more things.
